Eurail Pass

Eurail Pass

Using a Eurail pass is it possible to travel within or between European countries for a single discounted price. Like any rail pass, the purpose of the Eurail pass is to save the individual money by giving them a one off payment for a certain amount of use rather than their having to buy train tickets each time they want to make a journey.

This then means that a Eurail pass provides a perfect way to visit multiple different European countries on a budget on a single trip, and this means that an individual can experience the vast range of cultures and scenery offered by different European countries without having to spend too much at all. This then also gives a great feeling for backpackers and the idea of crossing borders in foreign lands on a train is a highly romantic one and one that is very appealing to a lo of people.

Using a Eurail pass, not only do you get the journey more cheaply, but it also has many other advantages. As the trains will make lots of stops and run all through the day you can make as many stops as you like and admire the scenery as you go. Meanwhile, as you will be looking out the window as you travel you will be able to soak in the scenery and decide easily which places you want to stop at and which ones you want to pass through – you might find some beautiful areas around Europe that you wouldn’t otherwise have known.

Compared to using a car – which is the only other affordable option for visiting so many countries – a Eurail pass is far easy to organise and won’t require insurance or parking etc. If you were to travel by car a lot of difficulty would come from the fact that you cannot rent a car from most companies as they would not allow you to cross the borders. You would also have to learn to drive no the left or right sides and adapt to the roads of many different places which is highly stressful.

When using a Eurail pass however there is nothing to organise and you will be able to sleep on the train and travel after drinking. You can watch the scenery, reflect on your day’s events, or read and get some rest between travels. The only downside to a Eurail pass is of course the fact that you need to lug your luggage with your everywhere. Thus the kind of people who will benefit from doing Europe by train are those who are able to travel with limited supplies and items  – ‘backpackers’. If you’re using a Eurail pass, then be sure to use this technique and take a very small travel case, or a medium sized backpack and limit yourself to taking only items that will fit into that space.

To look into the countries you want to visit head onto the website, or another website that offers the Eurail passes. You will then be asked to select the country or countries you wish to travel in and between, and to select a duration for your Eurail pass to lat. This will give you a rough estimate of the price and you can then go ahead and buy, or make changes to suit you. You can expect to pay between 500-2,000 EUR depending on your selection.

I like eurail. I am a big fan of european rail. I like rail travelling and eurail offers me what I need. To be more precise, the possibility of seeing Europe without owning a car and without the fatigue associated with car travel. European trains are fast and don’t cost me an arm and a leg.

I live in Romania and I want to see many countries in the shortest amount of time. Eurail offers me exactly that, rail travel in style. With only one pass I can see many cities, europe train is very well implemented. Euro-rail lets me enjoy different cultures with a minimum amount of bagage and fuss.

I am from Hungary and I like to travel through the european rail system. The single pass option is great. I travel light and rail-travelling on euro-rail is the best thing for me since sliced bread. Europe is great and the rail travelling is very well organised. I travel light and european rail travel lets me enjoy freedom.

I just got married. In our honey moon we decided to see Europe. The best choice for us to see our continent seemed to be by rail-travel, more precisely Euro-rail. The services were great, eurail travel is simple and a perfect way to visit all the big cities. I love rail-travel and the journey was great.

Since I was little I wished to see Europe. Now with European rail system, rail-travelling became a piece of cake. I was using a Euro-rail pass and with the discount prices and the Eurail single pass system, everything was just too good to be true. I prefer european trains to renting a car in terms of comodity and prices. I just love eurail.

Didn’t know a thing about this eurail pass. Thanks for letting me know. Next time I will surely use one.

The best thing about this eurail pass might be the one you mentioned: it stops frequently. This way, you can enjoy your travel better.

I used eurail some time ago. At the beginning I thought it would be just as any other european train.

It is a pleasure to rail-travel with eurail, if you ask me. I loved it and I will surely try it again!

There is a typo in the beginning of the article. You used “a eurail pass”. “AN eurail pass” should have been used. Maybe you can correct that.

/ontopic: I have never used nor heard about this eurail pass. Maybe I will try it in the future.

Are these trains comfortable? Is it worth it? I was thinking to get an eurail pass next summer. But I am a huge confort fan, so.. :D

Anyway, as I can see, you have many advantages with this eurail pass. Maybe I will try it out.

As I can see from pictures, eurail pass seems like a good decision. It seems like you have good conditions. The price for the eurail pass doesn’t seem too expensive either. Of course, it depends on your destination. But however…

thanks for letting us know about the eurail pass!!

We found that the Eurail was a great option for us when we were in Germany. We were able to get the pass and then stop at many places that we may not have known about if we had rented a car. Plus we did not need to worry about directions then either so everyone we traveled with got to see the great scenery. If we had a vehicle, then one of us would have had to paid attention to the map or the signs.

I backpacked across Europe the summer after I graduated college. Me and my friends were able to get a Eurail pass for a cheap amount and it really helped us out. We were able to see much of the country and did not need to worry about driving and finding places. We could just hop on the train and let it take us around.
