European Christmas
The European Christmas season is a remarkable occasion. It is the time, when people enjoy with family and friends, therefore all efforts are made to make the festival as memorable as possible. Christmas is also the time to welcome guests in Europe. European Christmas is famous all over the world for its splendor. For that reason, no stone is left unturned. Several preparations begin right in the month of November to offer world class hospitality.
After all European Christmas is known for its generosity and warmth. When we talk about European Christmas, our mind just can not neglect the mythologies associated with the festivity. These beliefs vary from region to region. Christmas in Italy is known for so many stories. It is said that people in Italy, do not exchange presents during the Christmas season. Many people still prefer to eat meatless dinners on Christmas Eve for the reason that Christmas Eve is considered to be a sacred occasion. Meat is allowed on the Christmas day. In contemporary Italy people have fish based dinners on Christmas Eve as well.
European Christmas is considered to be a “consecrated event”. Christmas is generally celebrated starting with Christmas Eve and ending with New Years Day. But the preparations begin prior to Christmas Eve. The commencement of the event is marked by a feast organized on the 8th of December. This event is known as the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception. Thereafter you will notice the place all lit up, decked out and adorned by Christmas trees. Tornio in Italy is marked for its grand lighting demonstration.
European Christmas is incomplete without talking about German Christmas. Most European Christmas celebrations tend to take the ancient customs for granted, Germany is different in this sense. Germany follows a two day Christmas Celebration. In fact, the Christmas calendar, that we follow, was developed by Germany. The Christmas tree in Germany is known as Tannenbaum. European Christmas has a world wide glory. Did you know that the world famous Christmas song “Silent Night” has actually cropped up from Austria, Europe?
European Christmas can’t be mentioned without writing about the fun London festivities. Christmas is the best time to visit London, U.K. The city would never appear so attractive and stunning to your eyes! If you are a food lover, then Spain is the place for you to visit during the Christmas season.

Christmas in Germany is one of my absolute favorite memories. Everyone must try to go at least once. The Weinachtsmarkt in each small town and big city has its own charm. I’d also recommend heading over to the Czech Republic in December. A bit cold but a decorated Prague is worth the trip.
The European Christmas is maybe the best christmas experience you can get. And I have to agree with you and Chris Cook, Germany is very special. And they know how to treat the foreigners.
I can’t imagine a christmas spent in other place than europe. An european christmas is just great, the environment is different than in other places. I love spending an european christmas.
The reason why european christmas is better than in other areas… well, that’s because europeans still believe in traditions, compared to americans, chinese, australians etc. I guess that’s why.
Indeed european christmas is the most beautiful christmas in the world.

The european christmas is more beautiful than in the rest of the world because european countries are more traditional here. They don’t neglect christmas editions.
I’m not that much into these holidays.
I will say that Christmas in Europe is gorgeous. I have explored many of the Christmas shops while on my vacations there and they are great.
@Fetcher- I do agree that the Europeans believe in the traditions as well. But don’t be too hasty to judge. Many Americans still have the Christmas traditions going on.
That picture is so pretty. While I have never been there, I have friend from Germany and she has sent me several pictures of Christmas there. I think it would be fun to be part of that. Looks very magical to me.
I think that where ever you go, Christmas is magical. It always seems like everyone is in a better mood over Christmas and generous spirits are everywhere. I do think that in Europe they have some great Christmas traditions. Some that when I start a family I may like to incorporate.
One year, I was fortunate enough to take my family to Germany for Christmas. It was spectacular. The atmosphere was so great. I would love to go back. It truly was divine.
Christmas is a wonderful time of year in Germany. I would not give up my traditions that I have here with my family. The whole feeling of a German Christmas is magical. Even as an adult I feel it.
I was not in Germany during the Christmas season but did have the chance to visit a few Christmas shops while there. They are so nice. I can see why Christmas is a big affair to them. The shops just had that great holiday feeling to them.
