Benefits of a European Honeymoon

First of all, one great reason to go to Europe for your honeymoon is that it has so much to offer. This is true in terms of how many different countries there are within Europe for you to visit, but also in terms of how much there is to see and do there. While the Maldives might be the ideal sunny beach holiday for many of us, they don’t have quite the same appeal when it comes to exploring history and culture, and nor do they offer the shopping or the nightlife. Travel to Europe and you get all the sun if you want it, but plenty more besides. This way you can enjoy something a bit more fulfilling for what should be one of the happiest times of your life, and at the same time avoid being quite so clichéd as many people are.

At the same time going on a European honeymoon is often one of the more affordable options. Not only are countries like Spain much more affordable to begin with than somewhere further East, but they are also much cheaper to travel to in the first place. Then there is the fact that Europe is more Western, meaning that you’ll be more likely to understand the language, and less likely to get lost or robbed or end up in the bad part of town because you don’t know what you’re doing.

Sunny Honeymoon: If your ideal image of a honeymoon is relaxing on a beach somewhere and soaking up rays/taking beautiful photos of the sunset, then going on honeymoon to Spain (and specifically the Canary Islands), Bulgaria (Sunny Beach), Greece (Skiathos), Portugal etc. will be perfect. At the same time though in every case there is plenty of great food and drink and a lot of history and culture to explore too.

Cold Honeymoons: If you’re willing to try something a bit different for your honeymoon however, then you might like the idea of staying in a log cabin. This is a surprisingly romantic way to enjoy being on honeymoon, as it allows you and your partner to snuggle up together in the warmth – perhaps in front of the fire or even on your porch in a hot tub – while the snow falls around you. You have plenty of option again here whether you like the idea of the alps or Scotland. And if you opt for the latter you might also get to see the Northern Lights – there are few more beautiful and romantic sights in the world.

City Breaks: Then there are the many city breaks you can choose from when going on honeymoon in Europe. Rome is highly romantic and warm with plenty of history and great dining and London has all those things too minus the warmth. Of course though for many people Paris will be the preferred choice – what better way to celebrate your marriage than in the most romantic city in the world?
