European Log Cabins

European Log Cabins

For something a little bit different for your holiday this year, European log cabins offer a very exciting prospect that is good value for money, highly romantic and cosy and quite unique compared , to some of the other holidays you might have had previously on the continent. At the same time with it coming up to Christmas, European log cabins offer a highly festive getaway and a great way to spend the winter.

The ideal image of European log cabins is a small little wooden hut that’s on the side of a mountain, in the middle of a forest or by a stream. Around the outside the European log cabins are surrounded with snow, but inside there is a fire burning and you and a loved one are curled up by the fireplace with a glass of brandy or nice Irish tea in hand. There are few things that feel more authentically Christmassy, and during the days you can go on nature trails and look at the wildlife – deer, rabbits, oxen or even reindeer depending on the country – go skiing, go sledging, have snowball fights or more. Some European log cabins will come with other facilities too such as hot tubs outside (so you can stay warm while it’s snowing all around you), steam rooms and sauna or other spa facilities making it a perfect way to unwind. Unlike a holiday by the pool there are no screaming children – not even any civilisation – for miles around making it completely peaceful and a great way to get some real quality time with a partner.

There are lots of benefits to staying in European log cabins in terms of cost and practicality too. For instance in European log cabins you can split the price between you and the starting price is already very low compared to a hotel room (you don’t pay for room service or receptionists). Meanwhile you are also likely to be self catered meaning that you save a lot of money on food but can enjoy great meals. It is recommended that you travel by car so that you can make trips into the nearest cities and towns, and this way you will also be able to transport shopping and other belongings. Of course with European log cabins parking is not an issue.

There are many places that you can enjoy European log cabins and almost any European country will offer them if you look around online. Popular locations that will also feature lots of snow and mountains are Switzerland, the Scottish Highlands, the French Alps and the Tatra mountains. For a truly romantic experience try to look out for the Northern lights.

I always loved spending winter times in european log cabins. I like the way you can relax. Mostly wood construction, with a nice fireplace. And a cup of hot tea or coffee. Who doesn’t love that? If I was rich, I would definitely buy some european log cabins.

European log cabins have something special. I usually spend my winter vacations around Europe, so I see a lot of european log cabins. Usually they are very comfy and looking good.

I like those rustic european log cabins. They really attract lots of tourists

I have a friend who owns a couple of european log cabins. They are situated in two different countries. I always enjoy my time spent there.

Nevertheless, I can’t realize if there is any difference. I mean, how can you know the difference between european log cabins and cabins from other places?

European log cabins are more attractive to tourists. They feel welcomed.
I, however, do not really care about these european log cabins. I just want to snowboard. When I get tired, I need a place to sleep. That’s all.

I see the point of this article. European log cabins have been very popular lately. A lot of people have been choosing europe as their winter vacation destination. That’s a great thing. They are starting to realize the beauty of our mountains and the cosiness of the european log cabins.

So far I have had 3 trips in Europe. In 2 of them I stayed in European Log Cabins and in one at the hotel.
If I were to choose between Hotels and European Log cabins I definitely choose European Log cabins because you can do everything you want and not be uncomfortable with and they are more cheaper.

  8. denis   January 14, 2011 12:22 pm

Seeing these recommendations they made me curious about European log cabins.
I have never stayed at one :D.
Maybe for the winter I’ll take my girlfriend and spend 2 or 3 days at one of the european log cabins.
And maybe you can recommend me some locations with european log cabins for my trip. Waiting :D

  9. tamara   January 15, 2011 4:38 am

What I like most at European Log Cabins is the fact that even if they are small , are very cozy.
Like you said European log cabins are intimate and you can behave whatever you like and do whatever you want.
I strongly recommend you if you want to have a peaceful vacation and at the same time saving some money choose European log cabins.

  10. sandra   January 16, 2011 11:30 am

I have the same opinion about European log cabins like tamara. I am telling this from experience because last winter I spent 4 days in a small cabin and it was very relaxing.
Now I am planning a trip for the summer and I want to look at offers for European log cabins. I am excited but I now that I will find something great.
So… I am recommending European log cabins too.

  11. Polina   January 16, 2011 12:34 pm

European log cabins aren’t in any way different from other area’s log cabins. At least in my opinion. I can sleep well in both european log cabins or australian log cabins, as long as there is a nice bed in the room. And I like a nice architecture, no matter where does it come from.

  12. Helen   January 16, 2011 2:22 pm

Things you said about European Log cabins and I like most:
    – with European log cabins parking is not an issue
    – in European log cabins you can split the price and it is already very low
    – European log cabins offer a very exciting prospect that is good value for money, highly romantic and cozy

Maybe I’ll even go on a trip and stay at a cabin :D

I would love to stay in a European log cabin. I think it sounds very peaceful and fun. I imagine you would save a bit of money since you are not having a staff wait on you 24/7. I could imagine myself cuddled up by the fire. Sounds fun to me,

  14. Mitch   January 20, 2011 12:33 pm

These log cabins in Europe look very romantic. Like something you may go to on a honeymoon. I think that if you were secluded in the cabin with your new spouse it would be terrific. A great view with a hot tub outside and a fire place inside. Does not get any better than that.

  15. Lou   January 21, 2011 12:51 pm

Cabins are very romantic in Europe. I am an old fashioned kind of guy and I took my wife to a European log cabin for our honeymoon. I surprised her with it. We have never had a better time. We were able to cook and enjoy eachothers company and the hot tub was great. At night we would cuddle up by the fireplace and talk. We plan on going back for our 5 year anniversary.

  16. Williams   January 22, 2011 4:21 pm

European log cabins made from wood are excellent. Not only for who stays in, but also for the scenery. It’s nice to see a couple of small european log cabins on the top of the mountains. Their architecture helps the landscape

European log cabins are perfect for romantic vacations with you’re partner.
Last year, my partner and I had 2 trips to Europe, one at summer and the other at Christmas. Both of them we spent at European log cabins. It was great: very relaxing and quiet, just the two of us.

  18. Nina   February 2, 2011 11:59 am

The picture above is just amazing. I can just imagine staying in a log cabin in Europe and just relaxing the day away. Or sitting outside on a night like the one pictured above just in awe of the beauty that Europe has to offer. My mind is made up. If I ever go to Europe, I am booking a log cabin!

  19. Julianna   February 3, 2011 5:40 am

Indeed European log cabins are great. I remember all my trips since I was a child. Since then, I have spent all my vacations in Europe, with my family. All the times we stayed in European log cabins, because my father is kind of passionate about them. He is old-fashioned and he loves European log cabins and I agree with him.

  20. Jovi   February 6, 2011 9:02 am

This looks like such a romantic place to take your significant other. The log cabin looks very nice. My girlfriend would love it for sure. I love the idea of being out by yourself sort of secluded. And the idea of your own hot tub, yes!

  21. Lisa   February 13, 2011 10:08 am

Jovi, European log cabins don’t just look romantic, they are romantic.
I spent all my holidays at European log cabins with my husband. We like to be alone with each other, with nobody to disturb us. European log cabins are great places for this.
Try it, and see that you’ll have precious romantic moments that you’ll always remember.

  22. Jess   February 13, 2011 2:57 pm

I have actually stayed at a log cabin in Europe before and it saved us a lot of money. We were able to cook so we did not have to go out to eat all the time. Plus it slept quite a few so we just pooled our money. And ours had a hot tub so that was some good entertainment.

  23. Maxwell   February 19, 2011 12:37 pm

I live in a log cabin and they are very nice. I would love to see a European log cabin. I think that they sound great and all the extras are there. It could save you money in the long run. People often assume that they will be expensive but if you can make your own food and you get a hot tub or spa with it, how nice!

  24. laura   February 20, 2011 5:58 am

I like one thing about European log cabins. I like the fact that you are alone in all that wildness.
I can say that I like privacy. I am a lonely person that does not like crowd and noise at all.
Most of my trips I took alone and I stayed at European log cabins all the time. They are good places where you can relax and clear your minds.

  25. Austin   February 27, 2011 9:31 am

I think that log cabins are gorgeous and what a nice way to stay when you are in Europe. They are probably cost effective too because you should be able to get many people in a cabin and then divy up the cost. And then you may cook and not have to eat out. And for the entertainment, how about just sitting outside enjoying the fresh air?

  26. Densie   March 4, 2011 6:10 pm

I love the look of a log cabin and think that it would be neat to stay in a European one. I have a friend that lives in a log cabin and they are very nice. The one in the above picture looks very nice. It would make a great place of a family vacation.

  27. Thomas   March 17, 2011 6:29 pm

Log cabins anywhere are nice. I can only imagine what they are like in Europe. I think it would be a cheaper route to go if you have a big group and need a place to stay. Log cabins seem to be more private than staying at a hotel.

  28. Doru   March 20, 2011 7:31 am

European log cabins are best places where you can rest after a long day. Renting European log cabins when you visit a country is more interesting than staying at a hotel. This way you have more privacy. And also you can do what you want. At least, this is my opinion regarding European log cabins.

  29. Clau   April 16, 2011 10:55 am

In my opinion European log cabins are the most inventive locations where to spend your vacations. Staying in European log cabins is very relaxing. This way you are not disturbed by anyone. Also you have intimacy and you can do whatever you want. I always chose these places when I go in a trip.

A few years ago I did stay in a log cabin with my family in Europe. It was grand. Much better than staying in a hotel. I have never been more comfy on a vacation. It felt just like home.

  31. Chris   June 16, 2011 12:40 pm

I wish I would have stayed in one of these when I was in Europe. I love the look of log cabins much and bet that the ones in Europe are real beauties. The homes I was in were fantastic.

  32. Willy   June 30, 2011 9:04 am

What is the big deal about a log cabin? So it is in Europe? You can have just as much of a great stay if you stay in a hotel. I think that you need to experience the food in restaurants and the culture and not worry about being cooped up in a cabin!

  33. Ana cruz   April 8, 2012 2:02 pm

I would like to know if it is possible to rent a small one bedroom log cabin (wood log cabin) with a fireplace and a nice kitchen in the middle of a mountain with snow? Close to a town so we can buy some food to cook? Period christmas 2012 for a week. From 27th Dec till the 1st Jan. Can you give us an idea of price.
    Many thanks
    Ana
