European Museums

Europe is a great place to visit for many reasons – the culture, the history, the scenery and the variety. Of course over the course of a week or two week long holiday it can be tricky to get around everything and to see all these things in one go. That’s where European museums come in. European museums mean that you have all kinds of cultural and historical items collected in just one place for you to view and with loads of information provided to give you an in-depth view of the country. At the same time European museums also give you an insight into all kinds of other things including science, art and other cultures besides the ones you’re living in at the time. European museums often also have great sculptures and architecture themselves which makes them tourist attractions and photo spots in their own right.

Of course there are a lot of European museums across a lot of European countries so it is hard to know which ones to seek out. Here are a few of the best and most famous that guarantee a great day out:

The Vatican Museum: The Vatican museum in Rome is certain one of the best European museums, featuring a large collection of religious icons, artwork and relics from a range of cultures. Of course this includes Catholicism and the fantastic art of Michelangelo across the walls of the Sistine chapel and elsewhere, but also features items from Ancient Egyptian religion, Roman and Greek Mythology and more. Then there’s art from a range of eras including modern art and surrealism making this one of the finest collections of any European museums.

The Natural History Museum: The natural history museum also makes it on the list of best European museums for the fantastic architecture of the building itself but also the impressive array of exhibitions inside. There’s of course the centre piece which is the huge Dinosaur filling the main hall, but also countless other experiences to be had and things to see. The Science Museum right next door is also highly recommended and best of all these European Museums are free!

The Louvre: The Louvre in Paris is again one of the most famous European museums, if only for the fact that it houses Leonardo DaVinci’s Mona Lisa and has the huge glass pyramid outside. Dan Brown fans rejoice!

Between the european museums, I also like the vatican museum most. The cultural value there is enormous. While I’m a fan of religions, I love that place.

Also, the louvre is great between european museums. So i’ve heard. I hope that next summer I will get to visit as many european museums as possible.

I have been planning to visit the european museums for some time now.

Micha, I also want to visit as many european museums as possible. Where do you live?

A list with all the european museums would be great, btw.

The Louvre is one place that I would love to visit. I think just seeing the Mona Lisa in person would be a real treat. I have heard many great things of the Louvre and hope to see it one day. I am sure I am dreaming but maybe just maybe one day they will!

For me, European museums are places where you can learn interesting things about a country’s culture, art and so on.
I don’t think that exist any country visited by me with any unvisited European museums.
I simply love everything about museums. I love artifacts, paintings, objects of scientific or historical importance etc.
I will educate my children to be interested in culture and art same as me.

First thing I do when I visit countries is to visit their European museums. I’m so interested in science, history and everything related to culture.
In my opinion, Louvre is one of the best from all European museums in the world. It has some precious and valuable art pieces.
Regarding architecture the most beautiful museum is, definitely, the one from Vatican.

I’ve never been to an important or large European museum such as Louvre or the Vatican Museum. I would like to visit one of these two European museums but so far I’ve never had the chance.
I’m interested in history and art. I don’t know many things about them but I would like to find out. Visiting these two European museums is marked on my list to do.

I’m an art lover. I like to know and to learn everything about art.
When I visit a new country, every time I visit its European museums.
In my trip to Italy I spend 2 days in Florence. I took advantage of this occasion and I visited Uffizi Gallery. It is one of the most beautiful European museums I’ve ever visited.

I haven’t visited many European museums so far. This is because I’ve only visited just two countries in my life: Spain and Italy.
When I grow up (I’m only 16) I want to go to France. I want very much to visit its European museums. In my opinion Louvre is one of the most beautiful museums.

I have visited only European museums from my country. I’ve never had the chance to visit other countries from Europe. Because of this I’ve never visited other European museums.
I plan a trip to Italy with my friends for this summer. I hope our plan becomes reality.

European museums are indeed great places to visit. If you are interested in the history of the country you are visiting, a museum is the perfect place. I’ve seen many European museums in my life. From my experience The Louvre was the most impressive one. I learned so many things visiting it.
