Europe is beautiful wherever it is that you are visiting. Whether it’s the view from the top of a mountain, or just a shot of the hustle and bustle of a quaint European town; it’s hard in fact not to take stunning pictures when you’re on holiday in Europe. At the same time though there are some places in Europe that are just begging to be photographed and that provide some of the best European photography out there. These are the huge sweeping mountain-scapes, the beaches, the fantastic examples of architecture and the sites among other things. Here are just a few great spots for European photography:
Venice: Venice is one of the most beautiful places for European photography and is famous for its rivers and exciting architecture. The whole place literally begs to be painted or photographed as people slowly sail by in canals or mill about their business.
Southern France: Southern France has inspired many painters including Claude Monet so it’s no surprise that it should also inspire European photography. Wherever you go whether it’s a village town or rural area the place looks like an impressionist painting and has the kinds of autumn colours and quaint glow that is highly rewarding to capture in European photography.
The Concorde: If you were going to Paris then most people would probably advise the Eiffel Tower as the best place for European photography. However here you only get one site to look at. Go to the Concorde however – a large Egyptian obelisk – and you can also see the Arc de Triumph, the Champ Elysee, the Louvre and countless other fantastic pieces of architecture and history meaning you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to European photography.
St Peter’s Square: St Peter’s Square is a prime spot of European photography mostly due to its fantastic architecture – countless statues and huge pieces of architecture such as the Basilica and another obelisk. Go at night though and the place has an almost magical glow making it great for European photography. Then of course you can always go to the top of the Basilica and capture some views over the whole of Rome.
Swiss Alps: Really any of the snow-peaked mountains in Europe would make for great European photography – all of which provide stunning views and snow that reflects in the sun for some of the most spectacular European photography.
Stone Henge: Stone Henge is full of mystery; several huge stones balanced on top of each other in circle that evokes some form of pagan ceremony. On it’s own it makes great European photography, but in twilight it’s possible to capture the real sense of mystery and wonder that surrounds the place.
Mt Tiede: If you want somewhere unusual for your European photography then make it Mount Tiede in Tenerife – the volcano that provided the backdrop for Planet of the Apes which looks just as alien as that fact implies.
Lulworth Cove: Lulworth cove is little known outside of Dorset, England, but it is one of the most fantastic looking coves in Europe. Providing rock pools, fantastic cliff faces, caves and a great shore.
Eiriesenwelt Ice Caves: Thought by many to be the largest ice caves in the world are just a short journey away from Salzburg (where you can also find some fantastic salt mines for European photography), Eiriesenwelt translates as ‘World of the Ice Giants’. If that doesn’t get you thirsty for some European photography nothing will!

Europe has some pretty picturesque places to visit so thus it makes it great to take pictures. I love the way Europe is laid out, everything can have a picture taken. I have found Germany and Austria to be so gorgeous that I too have taken many many photos while there. Even one I have of a pigeon is great because of the wonderful scenery behind it.
Eiriesenwelt Ice Caves is what makes me excited. I have a thing for caves and think that they are so beautiful. So I would love to travel to Europe to see these caves. They sound like they are just amazing.
Europe has many great spots it sounds like to take pictures. I am a fan of photography and have seen some great photo ops from mountains and just towns in general in Europe. I find Europe to be a fasinating place that is full of great photography.
I am a fan of European photography. It is not so hard to be a photographer when you are photographing landscapes in Europe. This continent has so many magnificent views. It is beautiful. European photography cannot dislike to anyone.
