Holland America: The Best in European Cruises

European Cruises

European Cruises

With 6 ships dedicated solely to exploring Europe, Holland America offers extraordinary European cruises. Holland America first began offering European cruises in 1873, when it was officially founded in Rotterdam, Holland. As of 2009, they had 166 ports in various European cities, including 15 maiden ports.

Holland America offers numerous European cruises for European tourists as well as tourists from abroad. Although Holland America travels the entire globe, their extensive, award-winning career began in Europe and that is where they put their primary focus. With 34 ports in Europe alone, one can go on single city or broad area European cruises.

European cruises can be as short as a 7 day tour of a small section of Europe, upwards to 20 day cruises covering all of Northern Europe, Baltic Regions, and the Mediterranean, just to name a few. They even offer “Voyager Collection” European cruises that rarely, if ever, make a repeat stop at a single port, for tourists who enjoy ‘collecting’ locations.

Holland America’s six ships that are dedicated to Europe are the ms Eurodam, ms Maasdam, ms Prinsendam, ms Noordam, ms Westerdam, ms Nieuv Amsterdam. Each of these stunning ships has exquisite interiors which include Signature shops, the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, and numerous restaurants serving European cuisine.

Thinking about touring Europe, but have no idea as to where you would begin, or what you should go see out of the vast numbers of museums, ancient cathedrals and castles, archeological finds, or just the most famous locations that pop into mind? Planning a European vacation on your own can be difficult and outright stressful. How could you ever narrow down the number of things you want to see into a select time frame?

European cruises just may be the thing for you. Holland America as well as other European cruise lines offer a wide variety of culture, cuisine and locations. With European cruises you have the option to stick to the recommended itinerary when in port or you can have the freedom to wonder about the area on your own. Just be sure to make it back to the ship in time!

Holland America is now based in Seattle, Washington although they were formed in Rotterdam, Holland. Their first ship, known as a flagship, was named after the city in which it was built and took its maiden voyage from. The SS Rotterdam traveled at 10 knots, could cater to 395 passengers and was built in 1872. The newest of the Holland America ships offering European cruises in the ms Nieuv Amsterdam which can host more than 4,000 passengers.

European Cruises are the best in the world. I have traveled with Holland America too. It was great and the conditions were fine. I think I will go for some other European Cruises soon.

I have never been in any european cruises. However, it would be nice to do that some time. Maybe this year. So I hope in 2010 the prices will drop a little for European Cruises. It’s recession you know… :D

guys, i disagree with you. i don’t think european cruises are the best in the world. i have seen and tried the american ones too. not only you can find cheaper offers. but also better conditions than those on european cruises.

European Cruises are more pleasant than cruises from other places. The crew is better trained. It might be just me, but this is my opinion. However, the european cruises’ price seems to be the same with the american ones. I don’t see any difference.

I have tried the Holland America company once. Indeed, it is one of the best in european cruises. You can really tell that this company is well specialised in european cruises. And yes, I have been trying other companies for european cruises too.

    So I recommend Holland America!

Holland America for the win! It is the company that made the european cruises popular. It is refined and classy. That’s why people going in european cruises choose Holland America. It is the main reason.

Holland America sounds wonderful. I would love to hop on board right now with them. I have always wanted to take a cruise and I think that the 20 day one sounds divine. I think it would be a fun way to experience European culture.

My mother in law went on one of these cruises. She said it was simply fantastic and recommends it to all her friends. She is actually saving to go on another one. One of the best vacations she went on is what she quoted me!

Holland America sounds like a great cruise. I think a 20 day cruise would be fantastic. Seeing all of Europe on a ship would be such a visual experience. One that I could never forget I am sure.

I could not imagine being on a cruise with 4000 people. To me that seems like way to many. I think I would much prefer a smaller ship that only carried the 395 passengers. I like to have more privacy and intimacy.
