Europe is a continent that has a colorful and exciting history – both sometimes fantastic and enlightening and sometimes tragic and terrifying. While there are arguments as to whether or not history can be shaped by the actions of individuals, there is no question that the world leaders and some of the most famous European leaders helped to create the political, economic, cultural and even geographical state of Europe today. At the same time among the most famous European characters are some truly colorful and exciting characters. Here we will look at some of those most famous European leaders, an what it was that made them so legendary.
Churchill: Winston Churchill is one of the most famous European leaders for his role in WW2 where he gave rallying speeches (‘we will fight them on the beaches’ ring any bells?) and took a fierce stance against the opposition that stood in stark contrast to Chamberlain’s more lackadaisical approach. He was also something of a cartoon character who was highly recognizable due to his bull-dog like features and ever-present cigar.
King Henry VIII: King Henry VIII is a ruler who has inspired many television series and films, and who was truly larger than life. If standing against the Vatican wasn’t enough to cement his place in history as one of the most famous European rulers, then his six wives – two of whom he beheaded – certainly was.
Stalin: Stalin was a truly powerful ruler who ruled with an iron fist. Certainly polarizing in terms of people’s views of him at the time, he created a highly efficient communist Russia, but not without a lot of casualties on the way. His rise to power was also fascinating as he doctored old photographs to make himself appear to be Lenin’s right-hand man, and played off his political opponents against each other while positioning himself as the dark horse known as ‘the grey blur’.
Mussolini: Mussolini was another fascinating ruler, this time ruling over Italy. A fascist but not in the same sense of Hitler and one who played a large part in WW2. Another shrewd politician too who used ‘transformismo’ to turn his political opponents into trusted allies.
Julius Caesar: Caesar was the ruler of one of the biggest empires in human history, which of course makes him one of the most famous European leaders, and also one of the most influential. He’s responsible for our language, our straight roads and even our heating.
Constantine: Constantine is one of the most famous European rulers if only for being responsible for steering Europe through the dark ages and combining Christianity with paganism while editing the bible in order to create modern Christianity.
Hitler: Hitler will always top any list of the most famous European rulers, and there has been much written about him both as a great public speaker and powerful ruler, and as one of the most evil despots in history. Few have had such an impact on history as this one man.

I have heard of all of these rulers. The one that sticks out the most in my mind though it Hitler. He is the one who I have heard the most about. And so there for I know the most about this famous European Leader.
For me, Julius Caesar is the bravest. Beside being one of the most famous european leaders, he was one brave man.
Hitler deserves to be numero uno in most famous european leaders. He has done so much harm, know everybody knows who he was.
Thanks for the list.
