There are many reasons that people travel to Europe, but one of the more popular reasons is that Europe is known to be a highly romantic destination and a great place for couples and newly weds to visit whether it’s for a city break or somewhere more scenic. Here then we will look at some of the most romantic places in Europe for your consideration, and there is likely to be something here for everyone.
The first thing to bear in mind is that we all have different ideas of romantic, and almost any situation can become romantic with the right attitude. Thus the traditional view of romance need not necessarily apply and the most romantic places in Europe can sometimes be the least expected. For instance getting caught in the rain and huddling under an umbrella can be surprisingly romantic at the right time.
Some romantic holiday ideas in some of the most romantic places in Europe might be to rent out a log cabin together alone in the woods or in the mountains such as the Swiss Alps or the Tatra mountains, and then to snuggle together on the rug by the fire. Alternatively you might want to go for a sunny beach holiday and enjoy relaxing on the beach and looking at lush scenery. If this is your idea of romance then you might find somewhere like Turkey to be one of the most romantic places in Europe, or Greece (where you can find the Isle of Aphrodite no less!).
For most people though, the most romantic places in Europe will be associated with city breaks and there are plenty of cities in Europe that just love couples. Of course the most obvious one here is Paris which is often referred to as the city of love and is truly a charming and iconic city to spend time in together. At the same time though visiting Prague or even Amsterdam can be just as romantic and a little less stressful in some ways. York in England also has an incredibly quaint and attractive feel to it with cobbled streets, winding alleys and a hazy glow.
For romantic cities and towns though Italy has to be one of the most romantic places in Europe and has a lot to offer. Italian food is sensual and romantic while the gentle heat lets you both get some skin on show. Visit Rome to enjoy seeing the sun set behind the Colosseum, Venice to see water and boats replace roads, or Verona for the setting of the most famous love story of all time.

People have different ideas of romantic indeed. Some of the most romantic places in Europe, in a person’s opinion, may not be considered so romantic by other people. For example, people think Venice is romantic, but I don’t think so. Riding a gondola isn’t romantic to me. See, other people may think Venice is one of the most romantic places in Europe, but I don’t.
Steevee, how can you not consider Venice one of the most romantic places in Europe? It is the most romantic city I’ve ever visited. Me and my husband spent there one of the most beautiful week in our lives. I was so impressed and since then my husband is very careful and more romantic. Venice is definitely one the most romantic places in Europe.
I am thankful for mentioning the most romantic places in europe. I am going to ask my gf to marry me. I was hoping to do that in a romantic trip. I am sure she will enjoy it to the maximum. Rome is also one of my favorite places.
I love mountains. I associate, like you said, the most romantic places in Europe with the idea of renting out a log cabin in the mountains . Staying just the 2 of us in the woods, in loneliness and peacefulness…snuggle together around are indeed some romantic idea. The Alps or the Tatra mountains are surely some of the most romantic places in Europe.
In my opinion the most romantic places in Europe are not associated with city breaks or crowd. I’m more like a loneliness and calm person. Paris is indeed one of the most romantic places in Europe but not because of this. It is romantic because there are many couples who are visiting it. I would really love to visit it with my boyfriend.
Italy is in my opinion one of the most romantic places in Europe. Everywhere you go in Italy you meet romance. I could say the guys there are the most romantic. I even had a relationship with one Italian. He was very careful with me. So, Italy is one of the most romantic places in Europe with the most romantic men.
I’m not a very romantic person so I don’t know many things about the most romantic places in Europe. I’m more an adventurous person. I’m looking for places where I could have fun not for some of the most romantic places in Europe. For the moment I like adventure, adrenaline. Maybe when I grow up I would like to visit romantic places too.
Paris is of course one of my favorite most romantic places in Europe. Many people think this way. Paris is an amazing city. I would really love to live there with my husband. Maybe if we live on one of the most romantic places in Europe he will become more romantic.
Is Amsterdam one of the most romantic places in Europe? I cannot believe that. I know Amsterdam is famous for other things. But if you say that it is one of the most romantic places in Europe I should get my girl and visit it. I really like this city.
From all these most romantic places in Europe I would love to visit Verona. You’ve made me curious. Which is the most famous love story? You are talking about Romeo and Juliet no? I would really like to see this city. It is definitely the most romantic place in Europe.
Rome is one of the most romantic places in Europe because of its people. Italians are probably the most romantic people on earth. I have had 2 relationships with two Italians. They were so romantic. You should really go to one of the most romantic places in Europe if you’re searching for a romantic person.
All places in Europe have something romantic. Of course there are some most romantic places in Europe and less romantic. But I’m sure every place has something special. You just have to look for it. You shouldn’t go just in some of the most romantic places in Europe so you can find romance.

Do you know where I asked my wife to marry me? In one of the most romantic places in Europe – Rome. 20 years ago we took a trip to Rome. One day we decided to go out and visit the city. She was so beautiful that day. I couldn’t resist and I asked her to marry me. It was one of the happiest days of my life. So, from all these most romantic places in Europe you know which is my favorite.

As I am concerned, there is no need for most romantic places in Europe. There is enough to be together with the person you love. This way all places you visit with your beloved one become some of the most romantic places in Europe for you. So, in my opinion isn’t so important the place you visit. More important is the person with whom you are.
Many people think Paris is the number 1 among all these most romantic places in Europe. My opinion is different. I would rather choose Verona as the best from this list of most romantic places in Europe. As the author said, there was born the most romantic and beautiful love story, right? So, every time I go there, I imagine myself to be the main character of the love story and this is indeed truly romantic.
My wife thinks Rome is one of the most romantic places in Europe. Do you agree with her? I personally don’t. I am not a big fan of romances and I’m not very good at being romantic, but Rome? Rome doesn’t have anything romantic. So for sure it is not one of the most romantic places in Europe.
I would really love to visit all these most romantic places in Europe with my fiancé. He is not very romantic, but I am. With all these, I love him no matter what.
